Life After Surgery..

Life after surgery has yet to be written because Whitney made it through just fine and she is stable. They put her on an oscillator, which is the breathing machine they had her on before ECMO. She indeed has some functional right lung tissue. They found that she was missing roughly 75% of her right diaphragm and had to use a patch to cover the hole as it was too big to sew together. Whitney is hanging in there. More updates to come.

  1. So good to hear that Whitney made it through the surgery and is stable! The next 24 - 48 hours are going to be very scary, just remember that you guys WILL get through it! The first two days after surgery are the biggest rollercoaster - I am thinking and praying for you guys today and always!

  2. YAY!! What a hurdle to overcome. Be strong, and send her your love, even if it's just while you're sitting next to her. She'll feel it. Hoping the next 2 days fly by for your little family.
